The Gaelic word for faerie is Sidhe (pronounced Shee),
which translates to "people of the hills" though faeries
also live in flowers and trees and plants and rocks
and water and various other secret and out of the
way places.  The Wee Folk that make their homes
in hills are hard to find and it is a wise man who
shies away from these "faerie hills".

Walking nine times around one
of these hills by the light of a full moon
will sometimes reveal the entrance.
Never enter without permission!
And even with permission, it is strongly
advised not to eat or drink anything
offered by the Wee Folk or you may
never be allowed to leave their realm!
Henceforth, watch where you step,
and be mighty careful where you build
your home, many is the time when folks have
found their homes moved in the night
for the audacity of building on a faerie hill.
